Pauleta Mickley

Pauleta MickleyDay 15- I guess. Last night, I got news that a woman that was like a spiritual mother to me had gone home to be with Jesus.  I am thankful for all the times that she prayed for me. I am thankful for all the times she preached at me without knowing she was preaching at me.  I am thankful that she was a part of my life and blessed me.

One of those prayers she prayed was fulfilled in my life.  One day I was in the church more or less just hanging out. I was new in the faith and I had a need that I did not even see but she did.  She pulled into an office and in her sweet way she basically said, “Honey, you need new friends.  You need new friends that will influence you for good and not lead you towards doing things the way you use to do.”  She prayed, I sat there listening and God started working.

A couple of weeks later I had new friends in the church.  I have not seen them in a long time but I know they were vital in my spiritual growth at the time. They became my friends because a sweet dear soul saw that I had a need and prayed for me.

Today, you need a sweet soul that can see things in your life that you don’t and that will pray for you.  We all need someone that when they say, “I will be praying for you.” You know that they were heading to their pray closet right then and will be knocking on heaven’s door for you.  In the early years of my Christian life, I had such a friend.  She was, like I said, a spiritual mother.   I know she prayed for me whenever she thought of me so I pray for her family as the being to try an live without one that brought so much joy into their lives.

Today, I am thankful for Pauleta Mickley.  She has fought the good fight.  She has kept the faith. She has won her race because she looked to the author and finisher of her faith- Jesus Christ. Someday we will have our last day on earth, our last hour, our last moment.  In the very next moment, when you take your first “breathe” in the next life what you will hear?  Will you hear “well done good and faithful servant” or will you hear “away from me. I never knew you.”
