Day 5 of my Thankful list- This is my dad. In the top part of the picture, he is in his late 80’s. In the bottom half, I really don’t know; 40’s I would guess. Next, to Jesus Christ, this man has been the most significant influence on my life. If you see and wonder, “Why is Jim so reliable?” It’s because I learned reliability by watching him. He got up at 5 am and sat at the kitchen table eating a bowl of corn flakes. Then he would head out to work even though he was as sick as a dog. You see he didn’t want to let his company down, his co-workers down and most importantly his family down. He was and still is my reliable rock.
If you ever wonder why I give Philip so much, it’s because I learned it from my dad. To this day, my dad will give me, if he can, whatever I ask for. Now that might not be a good thing all the time, but I know if I have any problem and my dad can fix it..? He will.
You might be reading this thinking Jim you’re so lucky. Your dad sounds great. “My dad was never that good to me. I wish my dad would have been like that…I wish my dad would have just been around.
I want to encourage you today. You can have a father better than mine and yours. God wants to be your Heavenly Father! God, the Father, is more reliable than any earthly father could ever be. He is much more giving to you as a son/daughter than my father is to me or I am to Philip. God will provide you with everything you need when you need it. Plus, He will not give you things He knows will hurt you. He is that good of a Father, and He wants you to be His child.
